Desktop Linux
Linux is fantastically stable. It doesn't contract viruses. And it looks good. Many people are choosing to use Linux on their desktop today for these reasons. Using Linux on the desktop is not for everyone yet, but its getting there fast. There are a number of proprietary applications which are used on a daily basis which are not yet available for Linux.
